Staff Report
LAHORE: “Overview,” an exhibition of prints and drawings by Damon Kowarsky, kicked off at Alhamra Art Gallery on Monday. This is Damon’s third solo exhibition at Alhamra and fourth in Pakistan. Three large drawings and 25 prints have been put on display.
So far, Damon has made drawings of Shah Alam Bazaar and Masjid Wazir Khan using charcoal on chart paper. His prints depict different places in South Asia, Europe, the US and the Middle East, and architecture and the colours of earth and sky inspire much of his work. On Monday, a large number of art lovers visited the exhibition and admired it.
Talking to Daily Times, Damon Kowarsky said that his experience of the third exhibition at Alhamra is really great. He said he taught drawing at Beacon House National University in Lahore and had a great experience of learning miniature painting under Murad Mumtaz and Mahreen Zuberi. The drawings have been made using charcoal on paper and chalk which give a great impact of light while the prints have been made using different colours and copper plates, Damon further said.
